How It Works

Go Local & Empower

MotherFood International takes a unique approach to solve the problem of malnutrition in women.

Together with global and local partners, we develop very affordable, fortified health bars exclusively using local agricultural ingredients so that they taste good to local palates. However, we go one step further by helping women produce these bars in micro-factories in their communities. We will also partner with larger food manufacturers to help them fortify their products and grow their business.

Partnering with Existing Food Manufacturers

MotherFood International works with existing local food companies to develop new convenient nutritious foods. We partner with entrepreneurs who have existing businesses that are already selling in their local markets. We can then partner with them to help scale their business and help tweak their products to make them more nutritious.

Microfactories

For remote regions and refugee camps, MotherFood International has recently developed health bar microfactories that provide local female entrepreneurs with all the equipment and training required to manufacture about 5,000 bars per day. The equipment has minimum requirements and is very simple to operate and maintain.
